When it is time to make the most important decision in your life, take some time to choose the right path. Getting admission to business school changes your life forever. It is the beginning of your career and the rest of your life. The amount of effort you put in now will remain with you for the rest of your life. Students aspiring to join a business school will benefit by having a good GMAT score.
Well-Recognized Entrance Exam
The Graduate Management Assessment Test (GMAT) is trusted by business schools and management programs for its dependable evaluation of the skills of the aspirant. The GMAT score tells the company or the school about how good the person is and how well he or she will do in their studies or at their work. This being so, the students who wish to make a mark will have to score high marks in GMAT. Only then, they will get into a good job or school.
Preparation is the key and though everyone knows this, many fail to put in the effort they need to make it. It is like this. When one prepares alone, they fail to see the pitfalls or recognise the limits they must observe while studying. It is for this reason; most of the students enrol for coaching at their local GMAT training institute. If you pick a top institute that has 15-20 years’ experience and has many students in its rank with top score at the All India level, then you can be sure you will get good coaching. Otherwise, you will only waste your time.
Test Section Break Up
The exam itself consists of four sections. You have to answer one question in the Analytical Writing Assessment section. It is an Analysis of Argument type of question for which you get 30 minutes. Next section is the Integrated Reasoning part for which you get 30 minutes again. Here you have 12 questions spread over topics such as Two Part Analysis, Graphics Interpretation, Multi-Source Reasoning, and Table Analysis.
The third one is the Quantitative section that gives you 62 minutes to solve 31 questions covering problem solving and data sufficiency. The last is the Verbal section. Here you get 65 minutes to answer 36 questions. This will deal with Sentence Correction, Critical Reasoning, and Reading Comprehension.
Get Help with the Preparation
Undoubtedly, you have to do most of the preparation by yourself. To know what the others are doing, you can go to the one of the GMAT coaching centers and see. If you join there, you can access the study material and study along with the rest of the students. This will add to the impetus of the preparation and give you a boost. You get a good flexibility to answer your GMAT because you can opt to take it in the original order as – Analytical Writing Assessment, Integrated Reasoning, Quantitative, and Verbal.
Or, you can write it in the reverse order. Or, you may write Quantitative and Verbal first followed by the Integrated Reasoning. The Analytical Writing Assessment will come last then. This kind of option helps you to give your best test performance. You need to begin your preparation by taking a couple of practice tests.
